Wow can't believe it's been 7 whole months since my last update here... i guess when u r feeling lazy and there're other distractions like TV and facebook u just kinda forget abt updating ur blog... for me i just kinda forgot i had this xanga thing....

Quite a lot has happened since my last update... back in April i was still stuffing myself with chicken rice and stuff everyday... I think I just returned from my wkend trip to Malaysia for the F1 race... and work was starting to pick up (i kinda did nth for the first 8 wks)... the project was quite tough but a good experience and at the end i was able to complete it and the reviews i got was alright...

Left Singapore at the end of June and spent the next 4 months in Taipei... it was a great experience where I met some new friends and ate like a horse every single day... those night markets are the best although it also meant gaining a few extra lbs during my stay... of course I also did some travelling around Taiwan... went to places like Kaoshung, Tainan, Hua Lien and few other places... can check out pics on my facebook...

At the beginning it was a little boring and depressing though... coz i ended up being the only person going to Taiwan and before i got to know my colleagues it was kinda hard to keep entertaining myself everyday... but thanks to the great food and TV I survived... and I had ppl coming over to visit Taiwan as well during my stay... my mum and sis, darren, fat su and co. and finally chiu, jups and chris... and of course being in Taiwan meant I went back to HK regularly...

But the best time I had during my 4 mths in Taiwan didnt happen in Taiwan but in Phuket... 10 of us from the CBMT programme met up from various countries (Taiwan, HK, Singapore, Indonesia) and had a lovely long wkend... prob the best holiday i've had for a long time and truely unforgettable...

Left Taiwan at the end of Oct... once again did something constructive and left my boss (i think) will a pretty good impression...

So for the past month (already!) or so I've been "working" in Jakarta... ppl keep saying it's a dump and it's full of slumps and stuff... but to be frank i think it's very similar to cities like Bangkok and KL... yes there are areas where the standard of living is really bad (we can see the slumps from our balcony) but i mean overall its not too bad... the local food is nice and not as spicy as i thought... and ppl at work are nice too... we've also managed to meet some new friends here and they are a lovely bunch taking us out for nice food, clubbing etc... i'm having more fun here than I did during my time in Singapore and Taiwan...

Off to Bali this sunday for a week... and will return to HK for 4 days during xmas... i will try and meet up with as many ppl as possible but i cant guarantee anything... so those who i wont be able to meet i apologise... but i will be back again for chinese new year so hopefully we can meet up then...

Better get back to work... meeting with boss tmr so i have to get something done...

might as well update coz i've been up to a few things lately...

went back to hk a couple of weeks ago to attend sara's wedding... it was a beautiful wedding and i m very very happy to see a good friend finding someone she feels will make her happy for the rest of her life.. it was nice meeting up with hk friends as well.. havent really seen them since xmas in hk... only stayed in hk from sat morning till sunday nite and had to go to work on monday..

The following day (tues) i went to UK for my graduation (left HK sunday, flew to UK tues) and visited some friends in London so that was good... wasn't use to the cold weather though haha coz been in a hot country like singapore for so long! But it was nice seeing old friends from uni and as i said to one of my friends "all this hard work for 5 seconds of fame".. but most of my family went over so it was extra nice....

Flew back from UK on Saturday, arrived HK sunday 5pm and then 8pm flight to singapore...  the next day I felt so tired and fxxxxed up at work... i felt and looked like a zombie.. boss told me to go home and rest but had mid-project presentation last thurs so had to tough it out and finish it... went alrite at the end and my assessment by boss was alrite as well.. one or 2 things i can improve on but it's not a bad starting point... at least it was positive overall so its encouraging.

Had a family friend visiting singapore with his parents so went out for a nice dinner and then went drinking/clubbing with him and one of my colleagues... that was fun...

Last weekend I went up to Malaysia to watch the formula one race in KL... it was SUPER hot and now my face is red.. not tanned... again super tired coz 5.5hr journey by COACH to KL from singapore then another hr or so on train to the hotel.... I left Friday 7am from Singapore (after clubbing with my friends till 5am) and returned monday morning 430am... u had no idea how glad i only had training yesterday from 10-4pm... went home, washed my clothes and just passed out....

So that's abt it really.... it's been a hectic 3 weeks or so for me but not planning to travel at all this month.. gf will be visiting me from 26-28th April so taken a couple of days off to spend some time with her. Might travel again in May, probably a long weekend in HK and maybe a weekend in Bali as well... we'll see...

Well first of all a very very happy new year to you all and although its already 12 Jan I am sure everyone had a great time with their friends and family.

Well xmas was fun, spent a lot of time with friends, family and meranda as well as WAYYY too many MJ sessions with Terrie and co. Lost quite a few bucks but its all part of the fun! Didnt go drinking as much as I did in previous xmas holidays but new yrs eve was eventful (the club we were invited to go was... seriously shite).. countdown in taxi with 4 others and ended up at Red Box in wan chai at 1230.. drank gallons of black label + green tea and managed to get home by 8am...

After new year thigns went back to normal, and spent the whole week shopping for work clothes, finally started my job at ABN AMRO and the first week's been fun. The guys working with me are cool ppl and its nice to meet new colleagues that I hope we can become close both personally and professionally. Training so far has been pretty tough but rewarding... one more week of training and gotta work on a presentation as well.. so it's not going to be a stroll in the park but I am sure i'll get a lot out of the who thing... and i'll be off to singapore next wkend... time to shop for more clothes and other things i need...

Will update again when i arrive in singapore...

Can't believe xmas is upon us already, the past 2 and a half months just flew by without anything really happening... sometimes i look back and ask myself, "what on earth have i been doing all this time?". I feel like i've done a lot of things since i came back but i cant recall anything in particular that stands out until recently.  The same gym sessions (still no progress), spending time with gf as often as i could and (still) getting in touch with mates... in between mid autumn festival, mum's bday, halloween and november just kinda flew by... although i did finally get my degree transcript and certificate... pretty chuffed getting a MSc with merit... i just hope i can attend my graduation ceremony on march 29...

Went to thailand (krabi) with meranda, clara and wendy for 5 days last wkend and had a blast.. the weather was lovely and the places we visited, the food we had and the atmosphere of the whole place was brilliant. Even though i didnt manage to get much of a tan it was still a nice and relaxing break (well for meranda and co. since they've been working their arses off since they started work in July). Here're a few of snaps from the trip...

On the job hunting front i've also managed to find something in the past wk or so. I wasnt making much progress at all before but through a friend i got in touch with an recruitment agency and after sending them my CV I was asked to have a chat with one of their consultants regarding a banking role. That went alrite and a few days later i was invited by the bank for an interview (turned out to be 2 in one afternoon). Luckily i did my homework and from my previous interview experiences (esp the 2 cathay interviews i had in July) I did alrite and whilst on holiday in thailand got a call from the bank saying that they are offering me a place.. so was chuffed to bits and signed the contract on monday... really looking forward to this post coz i really hope i will learn a lot from it and i believe it offers a great opportunity to succeed in this field in the long term... in the meantime just have to go through all the handouts the company gave me as well as filling in 15! various forms that i hv to complete and hand in on my 1st day at work (8th jan)...

Another month to go till work starts so will make the most of it and try and do as much as i could in the next 4-5 weeks, havent got anything planned yet but i am sure it will be a great xmas and new year... in the meantime life goes back to normal.. gym mon/wed/fri, rugby (when i finally get my arse there) tues/thurs and chilling out (drinking) on fri and sat... not to mention the various family/friends lunch and dinner dates... actually my life aint THAT boring hahaha!

Enough crap for this entry... hopefully i will hv more to talk abt come xmas... i am sure i'll hv plenty to talk (moan?) abt then i finally start work and enter the real world (again.. tried in 2003 but went back to uni haha)
